Santa María de Quintela é unha parroquia do concello de Castro de Rei. Segundo o padrón municipal de 2004 tiña 98 habitantes (52 mulleres e 46 homes), distribuídos en 9 entidades de poboación, o que supón un aumento en relación ao ano 1999 cando tiña 87 habitantes. Segundo o IGE, no 2014 a súa poboación descendera ata os 58 habitantes, sendo 26 homes e 32 mulleres.
