Segundo o IGE, en 2022 tiña 89.386 habitantes (41.015 homes e 48.371 mulleres). Por erro, no Nomenclátor de Galicia de 2003, aparecía dentro da parroquia de Lamas, aínda que ese erro xa se corrixiu coa actualización de 2026.
