Santa María de Carballedo é unha parroquia que se localiza no concello de Carballedo. Segundo o IGE en 2014 tiña 217 habitantes (109 homes e 108 mulleres), distribuídos en 16 entidades de poboación, o que supón unha diminución en relación ao ano 1999 cando tiña 256 habitantes. En 2016 tiña 210 habitantes, 100 mulleres e 110 homes, segundo o INE. En 2020 190, 93 mulleres e 97 homes.
