A praia de Doniños e a súa lagoa son unha contorna natural case virxe do concello de Ferrol. A praia ten bandeira azul e tódolos equipamentos. A zona vixiada son os dous extremos da praia sendo perigosa polas correntes nas zonas indicadas. Está moi ben comunicada e ten amplos aparcadoiros. A contorna está moi ben coidada. É con diferenza a praia máis coñecida de Ferrol. O seu amplo e limpo areal é empregado para todo tipo de deportes náuticos. Preto dela está un amplo pinar de monte común e o castro de Lobadiz. Accedese á praia polos dous extremos e pola parte central por camiños peonís sinalizados.
