Santiago de Carreira é unha parroquia que se localiza no norte do concello de Zas. Segundo o IGE, no 2018 a súa poboación descendera ata os 176 habitantes, sendo 86 homes e 90 mulleres. Segundo o padrón municipal de 2004 tiña 246 habitantes (126 homes e 120 mulleres) distribuídos en 2 entidades de poboación, o que supón unha diminución en relación ao ano 1999 cando tiña 267 habitantes.
